Devin Byrnes has been a New Bedford resident for twenty years; he currently lives in the West End with his wife and two children.
Devin is the chef and owner of Destination Soups located in downtown New Bedford since 2008. Destination Soups has hosted many community groups over the years including Youth Opportunities Unlimited and Greater New Bedford Vocational Technical High School Culinary students.
Devin has been a GNBVT Advisory Board member since 2018, a two time Mentor and Judge on the South Coast’s Entrepreneurship for All Business program; he has served on the Board of Trustees for Coastal Food Shed. He won UMASS’s 2017 Charlton Business School “Established Entrepreneur Award.”
In order to give back to the community, Devin organized the “Cocoa at the Common” for three consecutive years at Clasky Common. In addition, he created and founded “4752 Festival,” an all-ages and free music festival downtown starting in 2019 to the present.
Devin remains an active member of the Whaling City Collaborative as an integral member of St. Lawrence church. Both of his children attend St. Teresa of Calcutta school in New Bedford.
When elected, Devin will ensure that tax-payer money is spent effectively for all, he will work to protect public parks and spaces for city residents, he would strive to become a liaison to New Bedford’s business community, and he will collaborate with other councilors. Devin will pride himself on timely responses to all constituent concerns.
